A collaborative endeavor with students from the Srishti School of Art, Design, and Technology, Building Nomads Project focused on migrant construction workers in Bangalore, India and sought to find ways in which these workers and their families could assert visibility and voice in territories where they were considered invisible and voiceless. The Building Nomads Project emerged out of extensive fieldwork in Bangalore and resulted in a series vignettes, ink and paper drawings, and prototypes of tactical fashion and visibility devices – all of which were documented on digital video.
